Hello,
People know me as Tarun.
I founded totheself to help people strip away the illusions of modern life and recognize their infinite nature. By the age of 35, I had traveled across many different countries. From the deserts of the Middle East to the historic streets of Europe and the spiritual heart of India, I searched for a lasting peace.
I met thousands of people following different belief systems, all seeking happiness outside themselves. They chased things that felt temporary. Money, fame, and even physical relationships eventually fade. This raised a profound question:
What actually lasts forever?
If the physical form itself is temporary, how can anything owned by the body be permanent? I closed my eyes and observed the mind. The only unperishable reality, the only lasting truth, is pure consciousness. It is “the self”.
Recognizing my true identity did not instantly make me an enlightened saint. It simply gave me the clarity to step away from who I thought I was and move toward who I actually am. Knowing the true self is only the first step. Realizing it is the second. Becoming established in it is the final state. Moving through these stages requires tapas, or deep, disciplined practice.
My own tapas planted the seed for totheself. My intention is to share this clarity with others. Together with a growing team, I offer these realizations through writing, structured courses, and live retreats.
Shortly after starting this work, Yogi Lea, a dedicated soul from Germany, joined me. We are building a foundation to support others in recognizing their true identity.
A teacher or mentor can only point the way to the self. The practitioner must do the active work of realizing and establishing that truth.
To reach people across different borders, Lea and I are currently living on the road. We converted a 2012 Ford Transit van into our home. This allows us to practice a quiet, minimalistic yogic lifestyle while traveling. We are committed to spreading this knowledge to new corners of the globe. We are ready to offer whatever time and energy this service requires.
